Post Care Treatment

Now that your smile is brighter, let’s keep it that way!

First Hour: Drink only water and don’t eat anything for one hour after your whitening treatment.
First 24 Hours: For the first 24 hours after whitening, do not to consume food or drinks that are likely to cause stains. Such as blueberries, tomato sauces, beets, carrots, red wine, coffee, tea, colas, etc.
White Spots On Teeth: In some cases you may see white spots on certain areas on your teeth. These are typically caused by calcium deposits or very porous teeth. These will normally disappear within 24 hours.
White Spots On Gums: Should you have any scrapes or cuts on your gums you may see some white spots and/or feel some sensitivity during your whitening session. These will normally disappear within 24 hours.
Sensitivity: A small percentage of people will have minor tooth and/or gum sensitivity. This normally dissipates within 30 minutes. If sensitivity persists, use a toothpaste developed for sensitivity.

FAQ

With respect to the bonding it is applied in a specific color and any stains that have occurred over time will be removed. The color of the bonding cannot be changed and the whitening gel will not harm the boding material.

Yes, it is safe for crowns, caps and veneers, and stains will be removed during whitening, returning to their original colour.

The lights you see on Amazon and Ebay do look the same as the my light, however they are not the same. Almost all of these lights use 1 LED that is either blue or white, my light has 5 blue LED lights. The light was designed to use the same LED nanometre range as the table top light – 450 470 nm, the other lights do not use this light frequency as it was custom designed and manufactured.

Yes – you can swish! Just no drinking anything but H20 for the next 60 minutes.  The gel remains inside the tubules and continues to whiten. No consumption of any staining food or beverages 24 hours as the tubules are still resealing.

It is not recommended to proceed with the treatment if you have canker sores as it may cause discomfort. Note: the whitening gel will not harm the canker. Peroxide has been used on dental patients to heal oral tissue.

Everyone’s teeth have a different level of sensitivity so it is hard to say if zero pain will be experienced. A small percentage of people will have minor discomfort in their mouth and this normally dissipates within 10 minutes.

It tastes a little minty and a little like other whitening gels however the taste is quite subtle.

No, the LED light is designed to operate at room temperature narrower band of light used in Dental curing lights. The light frequency is above the UV spectrum.

I recommend that you contact your physician prior to whitening. No government issued restrictions currently exist.

The current age restriction is 12 and under.

If you have gingivitis and or periodontal disease you should consult your dentist prior to whitening.

Yes if possible, and if you had not had a cleaning in the last 6 months I highly recommend.

If you experiences pain that causes you to be unable to complete the session you will not be charged for the treatment. You will need to sign the consent form and note that you could not complete the treatment.

I recommend that you have teeth cleaning done prior to whitening. This removes the “film layer”on the teeth, providing faster results. If you have not had a cleaning the whitening gel has to remove the film layer prior to removing stains. This will reduce the whitening results for some patients. You do not have to have had a recent teeth cleaning, however, please note that results will vary.
